Zinq Privacy Policy

1. Our Approach to Privacy
Zinq is built on a privacy-first architecture. We believe your personal data belongs to you. We collect only the minimum information needed to operate the service, and we do not sell, share, or monetize your data.
2. What We Do NOT Store
Zinq does not store the content of your messages, conversations, or interactions with AI agents.
Specifically, we do not retain:
- Message content — The text, photos, videos, and voice notes in your vibes are ephemeral. They expire and are permanently deleted after their expiry period.
- AI agent conversations — Your conversations with the Wellness Coach, Fitness Trainer, Dietician, Finance Manager, and other agents are not permanently stored. Conversation context is maintained only for the duration of an active session to provide continuity.
- Diary entry content — Your private diary entries are encrypted and accessible only to you. We do not read, analyze, or share your diary content with third parties.
- Health data details — If you sync health data (steps, sleep, heart rate), we store aggregate summaries, not raw granular data from your wearable device.
3. What We DO Store (Metadata Only)
We store only the metadata necessary to operate Zinq:
- Account information — Phone number, email, display name, profile photo
- Connection graph — Who you are connected to (not the content of your interactions)
- Zone structure — Your zones (Personal, Family, etc.) and which connections are in each zone
- Activity timestamps — When you last sent or received a vibe (not the content)
- Preference settings — Privacy settings, notification preferences, theme choices
- Agent preferences — Simple key-value preferences you explicitly ask agents to remember (e.g., "preferred workout time: 7am"), not conversation transcripts
Examples of what metadata looks like vs. content:
- We store: "User A sent a vibe to User B at 3:15 PM" — We do NOT store: "Hey, want to grab coffee?"
- We store: "User talked to Wellness Coach for 5 minutes" — We do NOT store: "I've been feeling anxious about my job"
- We store: "User logged mood score: 7/10" — We do NOT store: "I'm stressed because my boss yelled at me"
4. AI Agent Data Handling
When you interact with AI agents on Zinq:
- Your messages are sent to Google's Gemini AI for processing and are subject to Google's AI Terms of Service
- We do not use your conversations to train AI models
- Agent conversations are summarized into brief, privacy-filtered notes for session continuity — the full transcript is not retained
- The Wellness Coach specifically uses privacy-aware summaries that exclude diagnoses, medications, and crisis details
5. Contact Sync
If you choose to sync your contacts, we hash phone numbers and emails using one-way encryption to find matches. We do not store your contacts' names, and the hashed data cannot be reversed to reveal the original phone numbers.
6. Media Storage
Photos, videos, and voice notes are stored on Google Cloud Storage with signed, time-limited URLs. Media attached to expired vibes is automatically deleted. Media in your private diary is retained until you delete it or your account.
7. The Blind Side Rule
Zinq enforces architectural privacy between your identities. If someone connects with your Professional zone, your Personal zone is not merely hidden — it is architecturally invisible to them. This is enforced at the database level, not through a privacy toggle.
8. Data Deletion
You can delete your account at any time. When you do:
- All your personal data is permanently deleted
- All your vibes, diary entries, and media are removed
- All your connections are severed
- All agent memories and preferences are erased
- This action is irreversible
9. Third-Party Services
Zinq uses the following third-party services:
- Google Cloud Platform — Infrastructure and storage
- Google Gemini AI — AI agent processing
- Firebase — Authentication and push notifications
- Twilio — SMS delivery for invitations and verification
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any party not listed above.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — View what we store about you in app settings
- Delete your data — Delete your account and all associated data
- Control your privacy — Manage read receipts, location sharing, and visibility settings
- Export your data — Request a copy of your data by contacting support
11. Children's Privacy
Zinq is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
